Put any product back the way it was.
Store Backup saves your Shopify store every day. When an import, an app or one wrong click changes what it should not, restore a single item, only some fields, or a whole backup. Then undo the restore if you change your mind.

Safety copy saved before the restore
Fix what broke. Leave the rest alone.
A store rarely breaks all at once. One import, one app or one click damages part of it, while the rest keeps changing: new orders, new customers, edits you want to keep.
-
A CSV import overwrote your prices.
Open the backup taken before the import and restore your products with only their variants selected. Prices, SKUs and options go back to what they were; descriptions, images and today's edits stay as they are.
-
An app rewrote your descriptions.
Choose Description only. Store Backup writes that one field back on each product and touches nothing else.
-
A product was deleted.
Choose Only bring back deleted items. The product comes back with a new ID, because Shopify never lets an app reuse the old one. Everything else in your store stays as it is.
How a restore works
-
Your store is saved every day
The first full backup starts the first time you open the app. Then a backup runs every day, and products, collections and stock are also saved shortly after each change.
-
Find what to put back
Open a backup and search it: products by their title, customers by their email, orders by their number. Compare any item with your store as it is now, field by field.
-
Choose how
Put items back as they were, or only bring back the ones that were deleted. You can also restore only some fields of one kind of data.
-
A safety copy comes first
Before it overwrites an item that still exists in your store, Store Backup saves the item as it is now.
-
Undo if you change your mind
Restoring the safety copy puts those items back exactly as they were just before the restore, in one step.
What is covered on Shopify
This list comes from the same catalog the app uses. Everything in it is backed up every day; the right column says whether Store Backup can put it back for you.
Backed up every day, from your Shopify store
- Products Restorable Variants, options and metafields are included. Also saved shortly after each change.
- Product images Restorable Saved with their product. Restored from our own copy of the file.
- Stock by location Restorable Quantities at each location. Also saved shortly after each change.
- Collections Restorable Rules and the products added by hand are included. The manual sort order is not restored yet.
- Customers Restorable Addresses and metafields are included. Passwords are not: Shopify does not give them to any app. Marketing consent is never restored.
- Orders Backed up only Saved so you can look an order up and compare its versions. Orders cannot be restored.
- Pages Restorable Saved by the daily backup: Shopify sends no signal when a page changes.
- Blogs Restorable Saved by the daily backup: Shopify sends no signal when a blog changes.
- Blog posts Restorable Saved by the daily backup. Comments cannot be restored: Shopify does not let apps create them.
- Menus Restorable Saved by the daily backup: Shopify sends no signal when a menu changes.
- URL redirects Restorable Saved by the daily backup: Shopify sends no signal when a redirect changes.
- Themes Backed up only Your themes and their files are saved. Restoring a theme needs a permission that Shopify grants to apps case by case, so it is not available yet.
Not covered, and why
- Customer passwords and account state
- Shopify does not give them to any app.
- Gift card codes
- Shopify does not let apps read them.
- How many times a discount code was used
- Shopify does not let apps set this counter.
- B2B companies, subscriptions, and data that belongs to other apps
- Not available to apps, or owned by the app that created it.
- Store settings
- Not available to apps.
- Discounts, store policies, files, metaobjects, translations and markets
- Not backed up yet.
- The original ID of a deleted item
- No platform lets an app choose the ID of an item it creates. A deleted item that is restored comes back with a new ID.
What you can count on
- One item at a time
- Restore a single product, customer or page from any saved version, without touching the rest of your store.
- Only the fields you choose
- Restore only the description, only the variants, or any list of fields, across one item or a whole backup.
- Undo a restore in one step
- Before a restore overwrites anything, a safety copy of those items is saved. Restoring it undoes the restore.
- A practice run, before you need it
- After your first backup, the app offers a practice restore: put one item back, check it in your store, then undo it.
- 365 days of history
- Every paid plan keeps 365 days of saved versions. You can also lock a backup so it is never deleted.
- No surprise on your bill
- Backups never pause when you go over your plan's order limit, and your plan never changes unless you change it.

Questions merchants ask
Something else? Write to support@expert-ecom.com or use the contact form.
Does it slow down my store?
No. Store Backup reads your data through Shopify's export API, from our servers. Nothing runs on your storefront or in your theme.
Can I restore an order?
Orders are backed up, so you can look one up and compare its versions. Restoring orders is not available: Store Backup never writes orders to your store. More about orders.
Can I restore my theme?
Your themes and their files are backed up. Restoring a theme needs a permission that Shopify grants to apps case by case, so theme restore is not available yet.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
Store Backup loses access to your store at once and stops backing it up. 48 hours later, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data, and we delete all your backups. If you reinstall before that, your history is still there.
Does a deleted item keep its ID when restored?
No. No platform lets an app choose the ID of an item it creates, so a deleted item comes back with a new ID. Store Backup remembers it: the items you restore afterwards that point to it, like a menu or a collection, are written with the new ID.
Where is my data stored?
Your backups are stored on Cloudflare R2, which encrypts every file at rest. The app runs on servers in Switzerland, at Infomaniak. The access to your store is encrypted in our database. Read the privacy policy.
Can I download my backups?
Downloading a full backup as open JSON and CSV files is built and is coming to the dashboard soon, on every plan.
